How to Merge Images into a PDF
Upload Your Images
Drag and drop your images — JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, BMP, or a mix of formats. Reorder thumbnails by dragging to set the exact page order in your PDF.
Choose PDF Settings
Pick a page size: A4, US Letter, or fit-to-image. Set orientation (auto, portrait, or landscape) and add margins if you're printing. Defaults work for most use cases.
Merge & Download
Click Merge — your PDF is built server-side in seconds. Your images are deleted immediately after the download is ready. One clean PDF, no watermark.
Why merge images into a PDF?
Individual image files are great for storage, but the moment you need to share a set of photos, screenshots, or scanned pages as one document, they become a problem. Sending 12 separate JPGs means 12 attachments, no guaranteed order, and recipients who have to open each file individually. Converting them to a single PDF solves all of this — one file, fixed ordering, consistent rendering on every device and printer.
PDFs are also the universal acceptance format. Whether you're submitting a multi-page form to a government portal, sending a photo report to a client, or packaging screenshots for a bug report, the target system almost always expects a PDF. Merging your images into one gets you there without needing Acrobat, Word, or any desktop software.
MergeAny's image-to-PDF tool is built for speed and privacy. Upload, reorder, set a page size, and merge — your PDF is ready in under a minute. The source files are deleted from our servers the instant your download is ready. Nothing is stored, nothing is watermarked, and there's no account required.
All Image Formats, One PDF Tool
No format-switching, no conversion steps. Mix and match in a single session.
The most common photo format. Camera shots, downloaded images, scanned documents — JPG is handled natively at full resolution.
Lossless transparency support. Screenshots, diagrams, logos, and UI exports arrive in the PDF exactly as they look on screen.
iPhone and iPad default format since iOS 11. Upload HEIC photos directly — no conversion to JPG required before merging.
Google's modern web image format. Common in browser screenshots and downloaded assets from web tools.
Uncompressed bitmap format. Older graphics tools and Windows Paint output — supported without any pre-processing.
First frame of animated GIFs is embedded as a still image. Useful for exporting diagrams or graphics saved in GIF format.
PDF Settings That Actually Matter
Page size
A4 (210×297 mm) is the world standard for printing. US Letter (8.5×11 in) is for North America. Fit-to-image makes each page exactly match its source image — ideal for screenshots, diagrams, or photos with unusual aspect ratios.
Tip: Use fit-to-image for digital-only PDFs. Use A4 or Letter when printing.
Orientation
Autodetects each image's aspect ratio and rotates the PDF page accordingly — portrait for tall images, landscape for wide ones. Portrait or Landscape locks every page in one direction, useful when mixing formats in the same document.
Tip: Auto is correct 95% of the time. Lock only if the PDF will be bound.
Margins
Set to 0 for edge-to-edge image PDFs (best for digital sharing and screenshots). Use 10–20 mm when printing — margins prevent printer trims and binding clamps from cutting into your content.
Tip: Check the portal's spec before submitting to courts or government systems — they often specify required margins.
MergeAny vs. other image-to-PDF tools
Most image-to-PDF converters — iLovePDF, SmallPDF, Adobe's online tool — work on a freemium model. The first merge is free; then comes a daily limit, a watermark, or a paywall asking for a subscription before you can download your file. MergeAny doesn't do any of that. Every merge is free, every output is clean, and no account is ever required.
Compared to converting images through macOS Preview or Windows's built-in Print-to-PDF, MergeAny gives you a real settings panel — page size, orientation, margins — and handles HEIC, WebP, and BMP without any conversion step. You also get drag-to-reorder, which Preview and Print-to-PDF don't offer once you've started the process.
The trade-off is scope. MergeAny is a focused merger and converter, not a full PDF editor. If you need OCR, digital signatures, or in-PDF text editing, use a dedicated PDF editor after exporting. For turning a pile of images into one clean PDF document, MergeAny is the fastest path with no strings attached.
Merge images to PDF on iPhone & Android
The tool is fully touch-optimised. On iPhone, you can select photos directly from your Camera Roll — including HEIC format — and merge them into a PDF without leaving Safari. On Android, Chrome's file picker lets you pull in images from Google Photos, Downloads, or any storage location.
Drag-to-reorder works on touchscreens: press and hold a thumbnail, then drag it to the position you want. The tool's layout adapts to narrow screens so the upload zone, settings, and merge button all stay comfortably accessible without pinching or zooming.
No app install means no storage used on your device and no permissions requested beyond the photos you're actively sharing. Visit mergeany.com/merge-images-to-pdf in your mobile browser and the tool is immediately ready.
